-Emerged from the music genre: post-punk

-The subculture has managed to survive and not get lost through time

-mix of the New Romantics, Punks and Glam

-STYLE: black style, velvet, lace, leather, corsets.

Black hair, Dark makeup, often white faces, black eyeliner, dark lipstick.

-clothing: medieval period, victorian style (dark colours, mostly black).

Teddy Boys

-Origin: London

-Period: 1950s

-Places: Elephant & Castle, south of the Thames

-The first post-war working class

-Known for their rebelliousness and sensitivity to insults

-Much of their money went on clothes

-They reflected a modern social environment which couldn't have existed before the Second World War.

-STYLE: A modification of Savile row Edwardian suits with the dandy look

Hair: A greased-up hair with a quiff at the front

-Rock'n Roll: Bill Haley, Elvis Presley, among others

- Chav started in the mid-19th century.

-Young, baseball caps,trainers,branded shirts, gold chains describe chavs.

-Chavs are those who love burberry. They wear baggy clothes and track-suits

-Chav fashion may become something cool

-They speak slang

-Music: rap, pop

ROCKERS

-Rockers style excited in the 1950's

-They were known as ton up boys

-Rockabilly music- rock and roll (motorcycles)

-Motorcycles -races on public roads

-They weren't welcomed at the dance halls and pubs until the early 1990's.

-Rockers: Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochran, Bo Diddley, Elvis Presley

-Fashion: leather motorcycle jackets/trousers/tall motorcycle boots,t-shirts, metal studs, patches, pin badges, aviator googles, silk scarfs

PUNK

-Punk street style started in London in the mid 1970's .

-It was music movement that took the name punk

-Generally are dark persons.

- They wear heavy dr. martens shoes, neck chains, basically black clothes-leathers, studs,mufti fabrics,t-shirts, animal prints. / Actually they cut up old clothes- they destroy the fabric so they can attract attention from the making garments designers. This fashion shocked a lot because it was something really unusual for those that they had never seen it before.

-They might do body piercings in other parts than the usual ones. Also the facial piercing for example eyebrows,cheeks,lips was unusual even unusual after 60's

-From where did punk succeeded as a style : Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren (Sex Pistols)

-Hair : the hairstyles that they do include sugar,water solutions,gelatine,hairsprays, gel, pva glue,soaping.- colour: pink,green,blue, -over bleaching .

-Music: rock, hard rock, punk rock (bands: the ramones, talking heads, blondie etc.)
